Freestyle Paddling - What is it?

Freestyle is the art of performing tricks while playing in a feature, be it a hole, a wave - even a good eddy line or a smooth rock.

Freestyle boats have evolved to take advantage of the planing, flattened bottom of the hull, which allows for quick spins.

Freestyle boats have also evolved to take advantage of the slimmer ends and sharp edges of the boat, which allows for easy engagement, for tricks performed while the boat is in a vertical plane, or to allow for moves that are performed as aerials.

This is a growing, and popular form of whitewater paddling, which can be enjoyed on the smallest features, in contolled settings, and even in the pool!
