River Safety & Rescue Certification


Recertification involves:

1) Attending one day of a WKABC River Safety & Rescue Course course that is running. Approval must be granted by the Course Instructor delivering the course, prior to the course, for a recertification candidate to attend.

Recertification attendance approvals are subject to course registrations, and Instructor:Candidate ratios.

Recertification candidates are also subject to course sign up, registration, and cancellation policies, as outlined here

2) Having a current membership in the WKABC

3) Successful completion of the following, at the appropriate course standards:

     a) demonstration of the requisite knots;
     b) demonstration of requisite throw bag skills;
     b) demonstration of a mechanical advantage system;
     c) demonstration of requisite swimming skills.

Note: recertification candidates will be evaluated using the same criteria applicable for the candidates who are taking the full course.
